Did you know that a 1000 ft2 roof will shed 600 gallons for every inch of rain? Average Riverside rainfall is 6-8". So forget about the 55 gallon barrels, let's talk tanks!
In this rare workshop we will be installing a 6,000+ system with your help! This system is scaleable since it will include a series of 1550 gallon tank. Whether you are installing a 500 gallon tank or a 5000 gallon tank, there are many important steps to follow to achieve good flow rate, keep out mosquitose, avoid high maintenance systems, and use integrated strategies to capitalize on water that you can't catch.
This home already showcases a variety of integrated strategies that are highly effective in mitigating flooding and other issues you may encounter around your house, growing an abundance of plant life with minimal inputs, and creating healthy soil systems using onsite resources.
This class will be co-taught by San Diego's Brook Sarson of H2OME and Daniel Aaron Francis, regenerative designer/educator and specialized project manager based in the Santa Ana River Watershed (that's YOU Riverside). See what Daniel's been up to around Riverside here.
